Any Forums Curses in disguise

Post examples of Any Forums media that were postulated as influential refreshing/innovative turning points when they were released, but on hindsight did more damage than good.

Nolan Batman films

pop songs aside, everything people found innovative about Shrek was already present in Antz two years and a half before

fucking this
i look back on them and theyre so good but when i re watched them a year or so a go i noticed how fucking bad they where and cringey
performance and action wise is amazing but fucking hell its such a bad trilogy

why did they forget about that outhouse in Shrek 2? It's nowhere to be found in the swamp scene at the start

I assume Shrek upgraded the swamp with indoor plumbing when he got hitched

>Antz/Shrek >>> Prince of Egypt/El Dorado
not a fan of those 2D films. I thought the CG films had better scripts

it annoys me how Shrek 3's name was changed to Shrek the Third late in development, thus leaving Shrek 2 as the only numbered sequel. They should've stuck with the original name and have Forever After be the only sequel with a stylized name

>Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek 3, Shrek Forever After
much better

People shitting on Shrek just because of its influence never made sense. It doesn’t deserve flack for existing, the ripoffs and imitators deserve flack for not being original

Robots was the first film where it became clear that Shrek was going to have a negative influence. Instead of making another Ice Age quality film, Blue Sky chose to lazily copy Shrek for their second film

Explain.

>Was pretty much Adventure Time/Regular Show with coherent, more-normo friendly jokes, Leepest Dore and a coherent, ongoing plot
>Adventure Time/Regular Show try and copy the ongoing plot/Leepest Dore

Post-Movie Patrick Star (kids loved his "mean-spirited" brand of stupidity and he probably inspired Fred FredBurger and Cheese)

Adventure Time

Those movies have nothing in common. I can't tell if this is bait.

Robots was promoted more than Ice Age and had more celebrates voicing characters (that's Dreamworks enough for a lot of people)

Dreamworks reusing the Shrek formula for their next films, while slighly dissapointing, is understandable. Dreamworks turning Shrek into a cash cow franchise full of sequels, 4D rides and holiday specials is not understandable. They fucked up there
