For comics you are limited with how you can portray black characters. McDuffie and plenty of writers had to suffer from mandate throughout the decades.
Meanwhile in Manga you have a black guy who. >destroyed the main character rival >brought him to near death twice >his brother almost killed him >later on he trained the main character >he is in the top 5 strongest character alive >was given a legendary sword after he killed a popular villain >zero controversy or backlash
