How do you think artists/creators feel about their work and characters getting the rule 34 treatment?

It's usually pretty funny.

How about you post some examples? It would, uh, be purely for research purposes.

I’m sure guys like George Perez don’t mind and expect it for creations like Raven and Starfire.
But I’m sure newer creators like Kamala Khan’s, absolutely abhor it.

Depends on what country they're from.

Pretty sure the guy who made nier automata loves it.

If they had any spine at all, they'd be completely against it.

Why?

The guy who created Helltaker did so specifically so people would make porn of it.

Rule 34 is the epitome of internet fame

They need to face reality and either ignore it or embrace it. Don't be like the Glitch Techs guy and bring more attention by complaining about it online.

Anyone who doesn't at least understand it is unavoidable and inevitable needs to spend about 5 more years just lurking the internet and learning about human history.
People can and will draw whatever they personally want to draw, and if what you make becomes popular enough, it Will happen.
The best way to handle it is to feel honored over how many people love your characters and work.

This on the other hand is the cuck response and will only lead to failure and even more porn being made specifically out of spite rather then love.

If you're not using the extent of your authority over a work to protect it, why are you even an artist?

Peak American right here.

No, 'peak American' would be abiding by (read: submitting to) the "principle" of the First Amendment and making a work completely public domain from the outset. That, I refuse.

No, peak American is peak venture Capitalist.
Which definitely describes you.

Then it still doesn't apply, because I'm the opposite of a capitalist.

Clearly not considering your outlook.

There is literally nothing you can do to stop people from drawing porn of your characters.
It will happen. Chances are it will be made in the first few minutes of your work being released, assuming it is a good appealing character design drawn in a good appealing style.
The best chance you can possibly have to avoid porn is to make your characters and drawings as ugly as possible, which is just making them as unappealing as possible. Which would make your show a failure. And even then people can still find some of them hot because there no limit to shit taste.
It is literally unavoidable and will just make people hate you for being an assholish prude who can't handle free will.

A capitalist is happy to see others profit. I'm not.
>There is literally nothing you can do to stop people from drawing porn of your characters
Not with that attitude.

No, a Capitalist is only happy to see others profit when they also profit.

Dude, you have no idea how horny humanity is.
Draw characters as ugly as possible? They will still find one to make porn of because drawing them in a different style is all they need. Pic related.
Go tracking down all the artists online and start laying some copyright bullshit? Get ready for a lot of legal drama and people doing it even more out of spite. That and the fact it could literally be hundreds or thousands of different artists you'll need to take to court personally. Hope you have deep pockets.
Beg them online to stop wanting to fuck the Alternatives? They will just want to fuck them even harder, and will gain animosity against you for not understanding how humanity works.
Make them all underage? You're on Any Forums, so you already know that won't work.

It’s fucking awesome

Then the legal system hasn't caught up with the needs of artists.

That's a whole different conversation topic let's be real here.
But even then, you could make porn completely illegal and people will STILL make it and upload it online. Just look at -8.

That's just one artist. What's your point?

This
I'd be proud if someone liked my work enough to jack off to it.

This needs to be understood for every aspect of the internet. Especially "nooo don't repost my art" fags. Putting anything on the internet openly is a forfeiture of your control over it.

Remember when Blizzard complained about the massive amounts of Overwatch porn so the r34 artists started doubling down in making it?

I think it varies a lot. A select few really hate it, some really like it, and then there's at least one guy that only created the characters so they would get rule 34.
