Your stuff is usually solid, but your old art had alot more SOVL, even if it wasn't as consistent. Conforming your style to a more manga- like look has hurt it's unique identity, IMO. This page doesn't really look like any other comic right now, while modern Oi! looks fairly similar to most other western manga. Again not a bad thing per se, but I think something is lost for me by making it more manga- like.

I had fun making Colleen's facial expressions! >FYI In this universe most people have powers and weapons called "tools" since they're not always weapons they can be toothbrushes or frying pans. But the tool takes the form of a snake when not in used and the snake usually hides in the person's clothing or is just offscreen for the sake of not having to draw them carrying stuff :) When grabbed by the owner, the snake will shed its skin and reveal the tool.
I understand what you mean. Back then I didn't know what I was doing as much so I experimented more and was sloppier. The other difference is I was inking with a #2 brush in these old pages up to around midway through Banshee Vale Horror Show, and then switched to thinner fine liners to get a more manga look. On one hand, I'm drawing closer to how I always wanted to when I first started drawing comics, on the other, I do agree it looks less unique and loses something switching from brush to pens. I still use brush and water color sometimes to get rough effects and can try mixing it up more. I like to experiment and try to keep improving. >Don't forget, it was war Luigi who scored the game winning goal.
I'm just about over Covid for a second time. Didnt slow me down too much. I come bearing some new pages. I only have like 2 more storyboarded. Soon as i get those finished, im gonna take some time to storyboard the rest of the arc, and work on some commissions.
