Why aren't comics more popular?

Why aren't comics more popular?
So with comic books movies being such money makers? Why don't comic books sales jump? When a movie like Hunger Games or Jack Reacher comes out, the book sales increase greatly while comics just get a small jump. I think DC/Marvel should give advertisements of their comics before movies get some people to notice that comic books are a thing. I might just be very salty because my university doesn't have comic book club, but damn why can't comics be more popular

Comic books are for retards.

they were for children and horny teens
now they don't show booba and hate males

manga was superior before the ideological shit started
in terms of narrative structure, continuity, diversity and price-performance
ratio

Selling a single chapter of a story once a month for 5 dollars a pop

Shit is ugly most of the time. Where did all the good artists go?

American comic books only cover cape shit, get some variety

Even Spongebob knows why.

failure to adapt distribution methods to changes markets

Because art, pacing and writing are shit.

Why waste your time on inferior medium, when movie and cartoon versions of capeshit are trillion times better.

competition, the moment I read the first
manga story I never wanted to touch another
capeshit story again and I had read hundreds up to this point

Too much reliance on old IP and being almost entirely dominated by cape shit. The stupid price for single issues is a piss take too. I don't know why marvel and DC didn't just bite the bullet and release weekly anthologies always working towards selling the trade paperback.

A marvel weekly with like 200 something pages could have done really well but b could the cost to the creators be balanced out?

Cape comics are bloated. Most regular people wouldn't know where to start if they were interested in a particular series

The community is elitist and not very welcoming. Potential new fans are chased off for not being someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes a particular series or for being normies who only got into the series because of the movies

Comics are harder to find now. Days of old you could easily find a comic book rack in your local grocery or pharmacy but now you have to go to specialty shops

Comics are of extremely poor quality right now. Writers are terrible, series are terrible, ect, ext

Warner and Disney didn't buy marvel and DC to get into the comic industry, they just consider the comics to be a part of the marketing for the brand

Because they're shittier version of mangas

Warner has owned DC for decades. Far longer than Disney has owned Marvel.

>Why aren't comics more popular?
How much they cost for how much comic you get, how you usually have to go to specialist stores to get them, and how if you liked a character in a movie or show and want to read about them in the comics, their highest-profile story you'll be directed to first is probably absolute cancer like OP's pic, and you won't want to read any more comics.

And Disney didn't buy Marvel to get into the comic business, nor even for the MCU movie money, they did it for the same reason they bought Star Wars, the merchandise. Their own brands were massive with girls, they bought Marvel and Star Wars as they were massive toy brands with boys. And then proceeded to try and market both to girls.

Comics are unironically too high IQ for the masses, by that i do not mean that comics are complex or deep i just mean people are fucking stupid man

They really struggle with following mcu shit, specially people from third world countries, it is too much for them, compare that to the average comic book nerd who can tell you the story you wrote is shit because it contradicts something said in an alpha flight story released 30 years ago

THERE'S FUCKING PEOPLE WHO THINK IKARIS IS KLARK KENT BECAUSE THEY MADE A SUPERMAN JOKE FOR FUCK SAKE

Comics are popular user. Oh wait you mean cape shit. Cape shit sucks man who thought swaping writers and draging this shit out for decades was a good idea?
