Plagiarism in rock music

Nirvana is famous for 'Come As You Are' ripping off Killing Joke's 'Eighties'. 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' is constantly pointed at as being a Pixies ripoff, too.

Why does no one ever bring this one up?

Cobain listed 3 Wipers albums in his top 50 - he was without a doubt was familiar with this song.

Any other lesser known plagiarisms?

Fucking kill yourself

Sorry bro, suicide would only change my mind physically. Come as you are is better

the hello hello hello part always reminds me of a similar guitar part is the sound's winning

what Pixies song did Kurt rip off exactly... ?

people who whine about "plagiarism" in music have never made anything worth listening to.
Also checked.

None of them. Kurt said when he wrote that song he was going for a pixies vibe, that's all.

Ever heard of the quote, "there is nothing new under the sun"?

>Kurt said when he wrote that song he was going for a pixies vibe, that's all
That's what the Greta Van Fleet kids say when people compare them to Led Zeppelin. Ripping off a vibe of better bands is still a ripoff, it's definitely not as bad as plagiarism but it's still pretty shit. Nirvana had no vibe of their own.

People who bitch about rock artists using similar chords/chord progressions/melodies in their songs are unironically brainlets.

Killing Joke ripped of The Damned so who cares. The Damned are a way better band than Killing Joke

I don't like Greta Van Fleet but this is a hilariously hypocritical argument considering that Led Zeppelin is infamous for shamelessly ripping off blues artists. I don't knock Led Zeppelin for doung it, either, because only retards care about "pure originality" in music (because it doesn't exist, every artist is heavily influenced by the art around them).

everyone knows about Oasis's plagarism of The Beatles, T-Rex, Gary Glitter etc, but they also ripped off lesser known shit

Noel would have definitely heard this track at the Hacienda in the late 80s

Smells Like Teen Spirit is a Blue Oyster Cult ripoff. Billy Corgan called them out back in the day by covering BOC's song to show how extremely similar SLTS was:

smells like teen spirit was a ripoff of Boston's more than a feeling. everyone knows this, what tf are you guys talking about

That's just a common chord progression in rock music. It's also used in songs like More Than A Feeling.

Listen to Godzilla and Smashing Pumpkins cover.

You're a retard, dude. The chord progression used in the riffs are similar - the main melodies and overall structure of the songs are completely different. Calling them ripoffs of each other is brainlet shit.

Very lazy trolling.
