This is the single most reliable pleb filter in the history of music.
Of course, it filters the absolute drooling retards, the guys who say "hurr durr it's shit" or "hurr durr swedish black metal is shit in general". That's not what's worth mentioning, it's just as easy to filter absolute retards as it is easy to isolate the pants shitter by his stench.
It also filters the pseudo intellectual pleb who has you believe Peste Noire, Taake or Deathspell Omega is where it's at.
But most importantly it filters the toned-down pleb. The fine-haired, well-mannered concern troll capable of ostentatiously measured responses such as "I don't see what the fuss you are making is all about. It's not THAT good of an album". Said pleb might even throw in a bone of dishonest good faith by saying "I mean it's not a bad album, but...". He might even - in the heat of the moment - let himself be carried away and boost it to full excrescence by saying "It's not a bad album PER SE". In other words, this album even filters the "false dichotomy" rambling, third party voting dweeb of music: The "nuanced sceptic".
Yes, it truly is the ultimate pleb filter.

Emperor EP and Wrath of the Tyrant is better.
No Peste Noire is good.
Sventevith is better.
Top-tier pasta. The original artwork is better.

Because I enjoy being a contrarian. Maybe not good is a bit harsh, but painfully mediocre is fair. Much better black metal and NSBM that deserves the love that Peste Noire for some reason gets.

Fair enough. I automatically dismiss any black metal with female vocals. Still a good album though. Black metal era Behemoth was legendary, shame what they became.
